DIY - My Experience Fixing a Viking Gas Cooktop

最近遇到一个问题，需要 replace built-in Viking downdraft and gas cooktop， 原因是烹调时，水溢出造成短路而跳闸，无法使用。

有两家公司来量尺寸， 结论是需要将现有的 cut-out 弄大点；或者保留 downdraft， 只换 cooktop。任何一个方案都有可能造成 granite 台面出现缝隙。

由于市面上没有任何 downdraft and cooktop 与现有的 cut-out 吻合， 只好尝试修理。

看了一些 YouTube 视频, 将 downdraft and cooktop 清理干净（主要是去油污）， 用 "GUM Proxabrush Go-Betweens -Tight, Interdental Brushes, Soft Bristled Dental Picks" 将煤气出孔（THE ORIFICE ON GAS COOKTOP）疏通，重新接上点火器 - 电极 （Iginitor - Electrode）， 打开煤气阀门，逐一拧开燃气灶旋钮， 居然每个火炉都点上火了，跟以前一样。

感觉这与解决一个软件 bug 类似，只有试一试才知道下一步可以试什么了。

Downdraft and cooktop 不是二合一， 是两个分开的 built-in Viking appliances。 Downdraft 紧贴在 cooktop 后面, 二者单独操作。

Downdraft 的主要问题是以前出过故障(每隔几分钟自动上升和下降, 不受控制），后来自行恢复正常。

之前不知如何清理这个Downdraft （油污严重）， 准备与 Cooktop 一起换掉。没想到这个更换过程不顺利 （去过 Best Buy, Lowe's, Home Depot, AJ Madison。没找到好的方案）。

无奈之下，约了个 Viking appliance contractor 来修, 排在两周之后。

不愿等，就自己试了，发现这事不难。Cooktop 看起来结构并不复杂，没那么容易完全损坏而无法修复。

将 burners 装回去的时候，有几个垫圈断成多节， 在ebay上找到了替换品 （7PCS O-rings For Viking Cooktops Burner Base Ring Kit PB070062 /25-000-004-33）。
